Not Your Typical Tool & Die Shop

Tool Tech was founded in 1985 in Springfield, Ohio with a straightforward mission: build precision tooling to the highest standard, stand behind the work, and be the shop customers can rely on when it matters most.

Forty years later, that mission has not changed. What has changed is the depth of capability behind it. What started as a tool and die shop has grown into a full-service manufacturing operation with 100+ pieces of modern equipment, an in-house design and engineering team, a wire EDM department, water jet cutting, CNC machining, surface grinding, and a CMM inspection department that verifies every job before it ships.

In January 2023, Tool Tech expanded its footprint with the acquisition of Cameron Tool Corporation in Lansing, Michigan. Cameron Tool brings over 55 years of automotive tooling experience, press capacity up to 2,250 tons, and a deep-rooted reputation with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. Together, the two facilities give customers a single trusted partner capable of handling any tooling program from first concept through full production.

What Sets Tool Tech Apart

Everything In-House Design, machining, EDM, grinding, inspection, and delivery all happen under our roof. We do not farm work to outside vendors. When you bring a job to Tool Tech, one team owns it from start to finish. That means tighter lead times, consistent quality, and clear accountability.

Forty Years of Experience Tool Tech has been building, modifying, and repairing tooling since 1985. That depth of experience shows up in how we approach complex programs, how we troubleshoot problems before they reach the press floor, and how we build tooling that holds up over time rather than just passing first-off approval.

A Shop That Invests in Its People Tool Tech runs an apprenticeship culture. We develop skilled toolmakers, machinists, and designers in-house because the trades that build precision tooling cannot be replaced by shortcuts. The same people who built our reputation over the last 40 years are training the next generation of toolmakers at our Springfield facility.

Technology That Matches the Work Our facility is equipped with modern CNC machining centers including a 5-axis Haas UMC-750SS, three Mitsubishi wire EDM machines, a Hexagon Absolute Arm with laser scanning for reverse engineering, and AutoForm simulation software for forming analysis. We invest in the equipment our customers' programs demand.

Reliable. On Time. Every Time. We offer local pickup and delivery with our own fleet of four delivery trucks. For emergency repair situations, we move fast. Our in-house tool steel inventory means we are not waiting on material to start your job. Our goal is simple: eliminate risks to due dates while delivering quality our customers can depend on.

Our Facility

Tool Tech operates from a 38,000 sq. ft. facility at 4901 Urbana Road in Springfield, Ohio. The facility houses our full CNC machining floor, wire EDM department, water jet cutting operation, grinding department, inspection lab, design and engineering office, and tool room.

Springfield puts us within easy reach of Dayton, Columbus, and manufacturers across western and central Ohio. Our four delivery trucks handle regional logistics for customers in the immediate area, and we coordinate shipping for customers further out across Ohio and the Midwest.

The facility runs on a single standard of work regardless of job size. A one-off die repair gets the same attention as a long-term OEM program. That consistency is not an accident. It is how Tool Tech has built and kept relationships with customers who have been coming back for decades.
