Abrasive CNC Waterjet Cutting Built for Industrial and Manufacturing Work

Abrasive waterjet cutting uses a high-pressure stream of water mixed with garnet to cut through virtually any material — without generating heat, altering structural properties, or creating heat-affected zones. For materials where laser cutting introduces distortion or plasma cutting leaves a rough edge, CNC waterjet cutting is the right process.

At Tool Tech, we run two CNC waterjet machines purpose-built for industrial and manufacturing work. Our OMAX handles detail work and smaller-format jobs. Our Flow WMC 3015 at 60" × 96" handles large-format plates, structural steel, and thick cross-sections up to 10 inches, jobs that most regional waterjet cutting services simply cannot take on.

We offer waterjet cutting as a standalone job-work service. You do not need to be a Tool Tech die customer to use our waterjet department. If you have a plate, a sheet, or a profile that needs cutting, send us your file, and we will provide a quick turnaround on a quote.

OUR FLOOR

CNC Waterjet Machines On-Site

CNC Waterjet Equipment OMAX Waterjet 26" × 52" for detail work and smaller format jobs. Flow WMC 3015 at 60" × 96" for large-format plates, structural sections, and thick material up to 10 inches. Both machines run CNC-controlled abrasive waterjet cutting — the right process for industrial metals, composites, and materials where heat cannot be introduced.

Materials We Cut Steel, stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, carbon fiber, composites, plastics, rubber, foam, glass, ceramics, and hardened tool steel. Abrasive waterjet cutting is particularly suited to heat-sensitive materials — inconel, hardened steel, laminates, and carbon fiber all cut cleanly without edge delamination or thermal stress.

Nest Optimized Cutting Our CNC programming team nests parts to maximize material yield and minimize waste — particularly important on high-cost plate material like titanium, tool steel, and thick aluminum. Nest optimization reduces your per-part cost on multi-piece runs and lets us turn around flat-pattern jobs faster than shops running single-part programs.

Complex Flat-Pattern & Profile Work CNC waterjet cutting excels at complex flat-pattern shapes, irregular profiles, and tight internal contours that would require multiple setups on a mill. We handle prototype profiles, gasket shapes, bracket blanks, structural cutouts, and one-off parts from DXF, DWG, or STEP files, typically same-day programming and next-day cutting on standard jobs.

Standalone Job-Work You do not need to be a Tool Tech tooling customer to use our waterjet cutting service. We welcome standalone jobs from fabricators, machine shops, OEMs, maintenance departments, and individual customers who need a one-off plate cut or a short production run of flat profiles. No minimum order. Bring your file and we will quote it fast.

Materials, Tolerances, and Applications

Abrasive CNC waterjet cutting produces a clean, burr-free edge on most materials without secondary finishing. Cut quality ranges from a functional separation cut to a fine finish suitable for parts that will be used without further processing, depending on cutting speed and material.

Common work on our waterjet cutting floor includes steel plate profiles and blanks, aluminum structural shapes, stainless steel brackets and panels, titanium aerospace components, carbon fiber composite profiles, thick plastic and UHMW wear parts, gasket blanks, die block pre-forms before EDM or milling, and irregular flat-pattern shapes from customer DXF files.

For customers who need both waterjet cutting services and downstream machining, EDM, or die work, Tool Tech handles all of it in-house. A plate can be waterjet-profiled, finish-machined on our CNC floor, and inspected by our CMM department without leaving the facility. One vendor, one purchase order, faster lead time.

Industries We Serve

Tool Tech serves manufacturers across automotive, aerospace, medical, defense, logistics, and industrial sectors, and we are not limited to any one of them. If your program requires precision tooling, CNC machining, wire EDM, water jet cutting, or custom machine building, our shop has the equipment and experience to handle it. We have served OEM and Tier 1 suppliers, medical device manufacturers, aerospace contractors, and industrial operations from our Springfield facility for over 40 years. If you make parts that require tight tolerances and reliable delivery, we are the right shop.
